Good MorningMarket momentum increased on Wednesday after stronger than expected durable goods data. Orders of new Durable Goods were expected to rise by 5.0% and more than doubled that at 11.2%. The news paints a picture in line with other data suggesting a strong and sustainable economic recovery is well underway.
The broad market S&P 500 advanced more than 1.0% intraday with strength in the tech sector leading the way. The tech-heavy NASDAQ Composite advanced more than 1.5% for the day in a move that is quickly becoming parabolic. With easy money policy expected to linger for many years and the economic rebound gaining strength investors should expect to see more news highs in the very near future. Friday’s data could add more fuel to the fire when the Personal Income and Spending data for July is released.
