Good MorningThe equity markets went on a wild ride on Thursday. The market was up, then down, then up and then down again all before the close of the session. The action was driven by a swirling vortex of news, data, and worry that promise to keep the markets moving in a similar fashion. On the one hand, there is evidence of a strong economic rebound while on the other worries about the virus and the upcoming election have investors on edge.
Among Thursday’s news bits was the latest read on New Home Sales. Sales of new homes defied the consensus and rose over the last month to top 1 million annualized units. The data is only the latest from the housing sector showing strength and it points to solid results from the home builders. Next week, investors will be looking for a raft of economic releases including Personal Income and Spending and the all-important Non-Farm Payroll report for September.
