Good MorningThe major indices were largely unchanged on Wednesday after briefly moving into new all-time high territory early in the day. The Dow Jones Industrial Average led the day but advanced less than 0.50% at the high of the day.
Investors have turned cautious after a historic run-up as uncertainty over economic stimulus and corporate earnings begin to rise. The problem isn’t that stimulus won’t come or earnings won’t rise, the problem is that chances of better-than-consensus earnings results for calendar 2021 are dwindling in the face of rising valuations.
In stock news, the Reddit crowd has turned its attention to the pot market. Pot stocks are seen as undervalued in the new paradigm of increasing profitability and potential for U.S. legalization. Shares of both U.S. and Canadian cannabis companies gained double-digits during the session with the Alternative Harvest ETF (MJ) up more than 15%.
