Good MorningEquity markets are treading water near all-time highs in anticipation of the Fed's next move. The FOMC concludes its two-day policy meeting today and will shed light on the future of interest rates with its decision. Following the release is a press conference with FOMC Chief Jerome Powell that should give new insight into the state of the economy as well.
Economic data on Wednesday were mixed. The producer price index came in hotter than expected with producer level input costs Rising more than 6% from last year. On the manufacturing front, the Empire State Manufacturing Index came in below expectations as did retail sales and the home builders index. On balance, the economy is still expanding but not as quickly as it was and inflation is still on the rise.
