Good MorningU.S. stocks retreated Thursday, ending the Dow’s six-session winning streak as the S&P 500 and Nasdaq also moved lower. Rising oil prices contributed to concerns that interest rates could remain higher for longer ahead of a key jobs report, while value stocks continued to outperform growth shares.
Earnings drove major individual moves. Instacart parent Maplebear posted revenue above Wall Street estimates as orders and gross transaction value increased. Lyft also exceeded quarterly revenue expectations and forecast gross bookings slightly above estimates.
Elsewhere, Fiserv reset its 2026 revenue and earnings outlook, citing delayed client projects, weaker Argentine conditions and softer hardware sales. AMD agreed to acquire AI-chip startup Taalas to expand its inference capabilities, while cybersecurity firm Gen Digital raised its full-year forecast on demand for protection against AI-powered online threats.
