Good MorningU.S. stocks advanced Monday, with the S&P 500 closing higher and the Nasdaq reaching record territory as technology shares led the rally. Communication services was the top-performing sector, while the Magnificent Seven gained ground. Meta surged about 12% as investors responded to strong early adoption of its Muse AI assistant and bullish analyst commentary ahead of this week’s Meta Connect event.
The AI and semiconductor trade remained central to market action. Micron advanced alongside broader chip strength, while Lumentum gained attention after unveiling an eight-wavelength laser module designed for next-generation optical systems used in AI infrastructure.
Elsewhere, GRAIL surged more than 30% after FDA briefing documents eased some investor concerns ahead of Wednesday’s advisory committee review of its Galleri multi-cancer blood test. Oil prices declined, while elevated diesel prices remained a cost concern for transportation and agricultural businesses. Critical Metals and other Greenland-linked stocks also rallied, while Oura moved ahead with an IPO that could value the smart-ring maker at roughly $15.6 billion.
