Good MorningU.S. stocks delivered a mixed session Tuesday, with the Nasdaq closing at a fresh record, the S&P 500 finishing roughly flat and the Dow retreating as oil prices declined. Brent crude fell below $100 per barrel during the session as investors weighed potential improvements in Middle East oil flows alongside continued geopolitical risks. President Trump also threatened further action against Iran if a deal to end the conflict is not reached.
Technology remained central to trading. Bank stocks, including JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America and Citigroup, fell as investors focused on narrowing Treasury yield spreads and the potential pressure on lending margins. Qualcomm introduced two new flagship Snapdragon smartphone processors designed around on-device and agentic AI capabilities. Apple shares reached a new intraday record and briefly pushed the company's market capitalization above $5 trillion, while Microsoft opened a Maryland quantum research center that will give DARPA direct access to its latest quantum-computing hardware.
Corporate activity remained active. Progress Software completed its $400 million acquisition of substantially all of Domo's AI and data-platform assets, while Sun Communities completed the sale of its U.K. Park Holidays business to Aermont Capital. Willdan also agreed to acquire Mantis Innovation for $285 million in cash, subject to regulatory approval. Featured: The 1929 warning system is flashing a new signal for 2026 (Ad)
